About Us

In the past few years, B’nai Israel, Baltimore’s downtown shul, has come to life. Young people are joining, activities for seniors and young adults are on the rise, and synagogue attendance on Shabbat has more than doubled.  We are an inclusive Modern Orthodox synagogue and we welcome everyone. Join us for a Shabbat service, attend one of our enjoyable Friday evening Shabbat dinners featuring terrific speakers, or come to one of Rabbi Yuter’s stimulating adult education classes. Young professionals also find B’nai Israel an ideal place to meet folks their own age and take part in programs especially designed to meet their social needs. Several marriages have resulted from B’nai Israel meetings. In a nutshell, we are unpretentious, nonjudgmental, and welcoming.
